Paige & Shayne - Elora Mill (Elora, ON)
Aspen Tradition turned into a Fairytale
Once upon a time way back in November 2017, a beautiful young woman named Paige stumbled across an ad for our online garden rose sale, little did we know then her love of garden roses would be the beginning of our beautiful friendship. A week after our sale Paige & her lovely Mom Cindy signed up for our first series of intimate holiday workshops where we combined an evening of girls night out with wine and stems in our studio lounge. Paige's DD (baby sister Brooke) was left out in the cold car waiting as the clock ticked by and we chatted away like we had known each other forever along with the Martin family. The next workshop Brooke joined in because she knew missed out on something special and before we knew it, new friendships & traditions were born. It became a Mother & Daughter tradition with the Martin girls and then it grew to include some of my other dearest friends/past clients in the years that followed.
The fairytale began in January 2019 when Paiges mom Cindy contacted me to say Paiges' boyfriend Shayne was planning a secret proposal and he wanted to order a bouquet of Paiges' favourite garden roses to hide the engagement ring in. I was overjoyed and delighted to be a part of it in a small way and even more elated to hear she said YES and wanted to book Aspen for her dream wedding at the magical Elora Mill & Spa last December.
The planning process was effortless, Paige was the most relaxed bride to be I had ever seen. She just trusted us completely and knew we would deliver everything she was looking for the in the most picturesque wedding setting we've ever had the honour of designing in. Her attention to detail was remarkable and she added the most beautiful compliments to the decor including her personalized tile place settings for each guest & Shayne’s copper work for the custom signage by Emma Allen Design Studio.
I could see why she was so happy from the minute I met Shayne, I was even captivated by his charm and endearing ways myself! He's one of those guys that just knows how to treat a lady if you kwim? He has a quality that is rare these days and he makes sure everyone around him feels appreciated and special...it's no wonder why Paiges family adore him so much, which was more than evident on the numerous occasions we've met; including the day we just bumped into one another at our favourite home decor store - Bella Fleur Boutique. Shayne was accompanying Cindy and Paige on a downtown shopping spree, also a rare quality wouldn't you agree? Men don't go shopping with their fiancees' and their moms voluntarily, at least not in my 30 years of experience lol!
Paige and Shayne tied the knot December 7th at The Elora Mill in Elora, Ontario just north of Guelph and there was pure magic in the air that crisp winter day. It felt like we were in a Hallmark Christmas film. The stores were decked out with boughs of evergreen and it just felt like the most picturesque setting we had ever stepped foot in. We fell in love the minute we laid eyes on it. When we arrived at the Hotel, we ran into our handsome groom and his crew outside and he immediately offered to help us girls unload, which we declined but appreciated so much.
We took the family flowers up to Shaynes family suite and then headed over to Paiges suite and found her there with the girls and her mom...just hanging out so relaxed and beautiful as ever in her bridal pjs! She teared up the instant she laid her eyes on her flowers and my heart overflowed...I had done my job..she loved them and I was overjoyed.
Her wedding blooms included some of mother nature’s finest from the soft and ruffled Keira David Austin Garden Roses to the sweet fragrance of the frilly White O'Hara Garden roses and luscious Italian Ruscus Garlands and swoon worth Smilax greenery.
